Back in 1953, the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association was founded for the purpose of training and educating professionals in the hotel industry. Faculty members at Mississippi State University worked with hospitality leaders to develop the first hospitality home-study curriculum for mid-level managers. The first course materials for the new program were mailed to one Mingo Lamberti at the Fort Des Moines Hotel in Iowa.
In the 50 years since then, countless thousands of people around the world have completed EI's Distance Learning courses. The program has grown from individual courses to a broad spectrum of curriculum options, including seven Areas of Specialization, a Hospitality Operations Certificate, and two Management Diplomas. One of these programs may be just what you are seeking to begin or to advance your career in the hospitality industry.
Our staff is ready to help you as you join the ranks of those who have benefited from an EI education. Congratulations on taking the first step toward a brighter future in an exciting career field.
